Check-Out Times
- Books
- DVDs
- Testing Kits
- Children’s Collection
- Laptops & Tablets
All patrons may check out up to 25 items, including no more than 5 DVDs.
Faculty may check out regular items for a full semester and laptops or tablets on an as-needed basis.
OK-Share Card holders may check out only books, either from the main or the children’s collection.
Overdues
Courtesy and overdue notices are sent to patrons via the university’s Rangers email addresses. Failure to receive or read electronic notices is not grounds for reduction or cancellation of bills.
Items overdue are considered lost. The library will levy either a replacement price for the items or the default price of $25.00 for each lost item.
If the items are returned within from the date the bill was paid, a patron may request a refund of the replacement cost.
Patrons with outstanding bills cannot check out materials, and the Registry Office will place a hold on their accounts. This can prevent you from enrolling, receiving a copy of your grades, or ordering your transcripts—even several years later!
To inquire about holds on your account, please contact the library.

OK-Share Card Program
OK-Share is a cooperative program among Oklahoma’s private and public college and university libraries that allows higher education students, faculty, and staff to borrow library materials from any participating library. For a complete listing of OK-Share member libraries, see the OK-Share Directory.
Each library sets its own policies for OK-Share patrons, so borrowing privileges may differ from those at Northwestern.
For information on how to obtain an OK-Share card, contact Library Services.
