We subscribe to three multidisciplinary collections through JSTOR. Open-Access Databases
These scholarly databases are freely available on the internet.
The primary aim of DOAB is to increase discoverability of Open Access books.
The directory links to thousands of full-text, peer-reviewed books from hundreds of publishers.DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high-quality open-access, peer-reviewed journals.
EBSCO Open Dissertations now includes the content from American Doctoral Dissertations. It is a free database with records for more than 1.2 million electronic theses and dissertations from around the world.
All articles in open-access journals which are published by Elsevier have undergone peer review and upon acceptance are immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download.
Project Euclid’s mission is to provide powerful, low-cost online hosting and publishing services for theoretical and applied mathematics and statistics scholarship worldwide.
Project MUSE offers complete, full-text versions of scholarly journals and books from many of the world’s leading university presses and scholarly societies.
PubMed Central (PMC) is a free, full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). In keeping with NLM’s legislative mandate to collect and preserve the biomedical literature, PMC serves as a digital counterpart to NLM’s extensive print journal collection.
Tracking retractions as a window into the scientific process.
Retraction Watch is an open-access database of peer-reviewed articles that have been retracted, or about which concern has been formally expressed. Database entries contain citation information, the article’s current status, and the reasons why the article has been retracted or is considered questionable.
Reference Databases
These research databases contain full-text reference works.
Their content includes encyclopedias and specialized dictionaries but may also include journal articles and other sources.
General Reference
For students and adults alike, the Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia database indexes over 25,000 records, covering an array of topics.
Gale eBooks is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research.
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is widely regarded as the accepted authority on the English language. It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of 600,000 words—past and present—from across the English-speaking world.
Legal & Business Information
In addition to 225 full-text journals, this database features full-text legal reference books from the organization Nolo.
This databases contains over 450 reference books related to business.
English & Literature
In addition to full-text short stories, plays, poems, and articles on literature, the Gale Literature Resource Center offers access to Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and Merriam-Webster’s Encyclopedia of Literature.
In addition to full-text stories and poems as well as critical essays, this database contains articles from reference works on poetry and literature.
Health & Psychology
This ebook reference collection offers a rich selection of eBook titles covering a broad range of general health topics including cancer and diabetes; weight management and exercise; allergies; senior care; social–emotional health; developmental disorders; and natural health.
Produced by the Buros Center for Testing at the University of Nebraska, the Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY) provides users with a comprehensive guide to thousands of contemporary testing instruments.
