Whether you’re new or returning, welcome to the university. It’s an unusual year with a lot of big changes, and we have big changes happening at the J. W. Martin Library, too.
If you are a returning student, you will likely notice that we have a brand new website for the library. The goal of this new site is not only to give our pages a more modern appearance but to make our online resources easier to find.
First, as you have likely already noticed, front and center on our new homepage is the a search widget so you can dive straight into our catalog without any extra clicking or hunting around.
Second there is a new “mega-menu” (that’s the navigation bar at the top, under the banner). This menu contains a complete outline of the library’s website, again to make things easier to find with fewer clicks.
Finally, you will notice some different arrangement for our research databases. The database list has been revamped and its subject associations completely redone so you can more easily find the databases most relevant to your field of study.
Because this is brand new, it is also a work in progress, and because of our new system, we also have greater control than ever before of layout and content. If you can’t find something you want, something isn’t where you expect it to be, or if you encounter dead links, contact the research librarian at dgdavidson@nwosu.edu. He’ll be able to fix the problem or at least telll you how to locate what you need.
