Are you looking for a specific journal? See these instructions on finding a journal in our catalog and databases.
If you’re unsure where to begin, try this list of recommended journals.
Search the Library Catalog
How to Find Journals in the Catalog
Navigate to the library catalog by choosing Catalog ⇒ Go to the Catalog from the navigation bar.
In the catalog, select the Resources dropdown menu and choose the option eJournals A–Z List.

When the search junction appears, select the tab labeled Journals.
Search or browse:
Search the eJournals A–Z List to find out if Northwestern provides full-text coverage.
Alternatively, select the Browse tab to see a complete list of journal titles.

Navigate to the library catalog by choosing Catalog ⇒ Go to the Catalog from the navigation bar.
Choose the Advanced Search option.

Under Search Index, select Title. Then type the name of the journal you want to find in the Search Term bar.
Specify Journal/Magazine under Format and conduct your search.

While in an EBSCO database, select the tab labeled Publications to browse or search the publication list.
You can subscribe to receive updates from a particular journal by selecting the RSS icon () to the left of the journal’s title.

This is not a comprehensive list. In a research database, you can search by Journal Name in conjunction with other search terms.
- Comparative Literature
Presents articles which explore important problems in literary theory and literary history not confined to a single national literature.
- Comparative Literature Studies
Essays of eminent critics, scholars, theorists, & literary historians. Ranges across traditions of Europe & North & South America, & examines the literary relations between East Asia & the West.
- Delos: A Journal of Translation and World Literature
Offers a wide range of literature in translation from all over the world.
- Five Points: A Journal of Literature and Art
A literary journal dedicated to publishing quality fiction, poetry, essays, photographs, artwork, and interviews. (Not peer reviewed.)
- Forum for World Literature Studies
Provides a forum to promote diversity in world literature,with a particular interest in the study of literatures of those neglected countries and regions. Publishes original articles on topics including theoretical studies, literary criticism, literary history and cultural studies, as well as book review articles.
- Journal of Modern Literature
Each issue emphasizes scholarly studies of literature in all languages, as well as related arts and cultural artifacts, from to the present; publication is international in its scope.
- World Literature Today
Articles, essays and criticism on recent belles lettres in all the major and many of the minor languages of the world, with short articles on contemporary writers and literary movements. (Not peer reviewed.)
