Search the Library Catalog
How to Find Journals in the Catalog
Navigate to the library catalog by choosing Catalog ⇒ Go to the Catalog from the navigation bar.
In the catalog, select the Resources dropdown menu and choose the option eJournals A–Z List.

When the search junction appears, select the tab labeled Journals.
Search or browse:
Search the eJournals A–Z List to find out if Northwestern provides full-text coverage.
Alternatively, select the Browse tab to see a complete list of journal titles.

Navigate to the library catalog by choosing Catalog ⇒ Go to the Catalog from the navigation bar.
Choose the Advanced Search option.

Under Search Index, select Title. Then type the name of the journal you want to find in the Search Term bar.
Specify Journal/Magazine under Format and conduct your search.

While in an EBSCO database, select the tab labeled Publications to browse or search the publication list.
You can subscribe to receive updates from a particular journal by selecting the RSS icon () to the left of the journal’s title.

This is not a comprehensive list. In a research database, you can search by Journal Name in conjunction with other search terms.
- Journal of Social Work Education
Concerned with education in social work and social welfare relevant to social work professional education at the undergraduate, master’s, and postgraduate levels.
- Journal of Social Work Research & Evaluation
Social Work Research & Evaluation applies systematically developed research knowledge to social work practice and emphasizes the “doing” of social work as a reciprocal avenue for generating research evidence and social work knowledge.
- Journal of the Society for Social Work and Research
Focuses on research on social problems, programs, and policies.
- Social Work
Publishes articles on all aspects of social work and social welfare that yield new insights into established practices, evaluate new techniques and research, examine current social problems, or provide critical analysis on problems in the profession.
- Social Work Research
Publishes articles, review articles, and commentary focusing on social work and practice-based research, evaluation, and research studies contributing to knowledge about social work issues and problems.
