- Some are scholarly whereas some are popular.
- Some databases cover almost every topic while others focus on a specific area.

Academic Search Complete is the world’s most valuable and comprehensive scholarly, multidisciplinary full-text database, with more than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals.
- Directory of Open Access Journals
DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high-quality open-access, peer-reviewed journals.
- Elsevier Open Access
All articles in open-access journals which are published by Elsevier have undergone peer review and upon acceptance are immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download.
- JSTOR
JSTOR is a digital library for scholars, researchers, and students.
Through through JSTOR, we subscribe to three multidisciplinary collections focused on social and life sciences. - Retraction Watch
Tracking retractions as a window into the scientific process.
Retraction Watch is an open-access database of peer-reviewed articles that have been retracted, or about which concern has been formally expressed. Database entries contain citation information, the article’s current status, and the reasons why the article has been retracted or is considered questionable.

This database offers full text for nearly 300 publications, covering topics such as computer science, programming, artificial intelligence, cybernetics, information systems, robotics, and software.
- United States Geological Survey Publications Warehouse
The provides an index to official, USGS-authored publications of the U.S. Geological Survey. This includes USGS-authored journal articles, series reports, book chapters, other government publications, and conference proceedings.

APA PsycArticles from the American Psychological Association (APA) is a definitive source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology.
- CINAHL with Full Text
CINAHL with Full Text is one of the world’s most comprehensive sources of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 603 journals indexed in CINAHL.
- Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews contains full-text articles, as well as protocols focusing on the effects of healthcare. The reviews are highly structured and systematic, with evidence included or excluded on the basis of explicit quality criteria, to minimize bias.
- Environment Complete
Environment Complete offers deep coverage in applicable areas of agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, renewable energy sources, natural resources, marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, urban planning, and more.
- GreenFILE
GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government, and general-interest titles includes content on the environmental effects of individuals, corporations and local / national governments, and what can be done at each level to minimize these effects.
- MEDLINE
MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre–clinical sciences, and much more.
- NCBI Bookshelf
Bookshelf is an online, searchable collection of more than 8,000 books, reports, databases, and other scholarly literature in biology, medicine, and the life sciences developed and managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health.
- Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection
Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection is a comprehensive database covering information concerning topics in emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.
- PubMed
PubMed comprises more than 30 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life-science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher websites.
- PubMed Central
PubMed Central (PMC) is a free, full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). In keeping with NLM’s legislative mandate to collect and preserve the biomedical literature, PMC serves as a digital counterpart to NLM’s extensive print journal collection.

- Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials
Cochrane Controlled Trials Register is a bibliography of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration and others as part of an international effort to hand-search the world’s journals and create an unbiased source of data for systematic reviews.
- Cochrane Methodology Register
The Cochrane Methodology Register is a bibliography of publications that report on methods used in the conduct of controlled trials. It includes journal articles, books, and conference proceedings; these articles are taken from the MEDLINE database and from hand searches.
- Data.gov
Data.gov is primarily a federal open government data site. However, state, local, and tribal governments can also syndicate metadata describing their open data resources on Data.gov for greater discoverability.
- Data.ok.gov
Data.ok.gov is a service designed to provide Oklahomans with deep access to data and statistics about the activities of Oklahoma’s government. It’s a simple way to explore data about the economy, public health, transportation, the environment, and more.
