The DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) was launched in 2003 at Lund University, Sweden, with 300 open-access journals. Today, the independent database contains ca. 12,000 open-access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social science, and humanities.

Because this is a directory of peer-reviewed journals freely accessible on the web, the titles cover a wide range of topics; careful searching may be necessary to discover relevant articles.

The Military & Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals and periodicals. The database also offers indexing and abstracts for more than 400 titles. Some publications covered in this database include Air Force Comptroller, Defence Studies, JFQ: Joint Force Quarterly, Military Technology, Combat Edge, FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, Foreign Affairs, Naval Forces, and many more. Many full-text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color.

Project Euclid was developed and deployed by the Cornell University Library, with start-up funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and is now jointly managed by the Cornell Library and Duke University Press. It was originally created to provide a platform for small, scholarly publishers of mathematics and statistics journals to move from print to electronic in a cost-effective way.

Through a combination of support by subscribing libraries and participating publishers, over 70% of the journal articles hosted on Project Euclid are openly available. As of 2018, Project Euclid hosts 1.8 million pages of open-access content.

Applied Science & Technology is the result of merged high-quality databases from both EBSCO Publishing and H.W. Wilson. Its content derives from numerous sources, including leading trade and industrial journals, professional and technical-society journals, and conference proceedings. The scope of the database incorporates not only traditional engineering research but also research concerning the business and social implications of new technologies.

In addition, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 450 publications. Computer Source provides researchers with full-text journals such as AI Communications, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science Education, Cybernetics & Systems, Electromagnetics, Expert Systems, Information Systems Research, International Journal of Computational Engineering Science, International Journal of Computational Intelligence & Application, International Journal of Electronics, International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, International Journal of High Speed Computing, International Journal of Systems Science, Journal of High Speed Networks, Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Mathematical Programming, MIS Quarterly, Monte Carlo Methods & Applications, Neural Computation, Theory of Computing Systems, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement & Control, and many more. In addition, the database features more than 860,000 television and radio news transcripts.

The collection provides indexing and abstracts for more than 2,850 academic periodicals and includes full text for more than 1,800 journals, 550 books and monographs, education-related conference papers, citations for over 4 million articles including book reviews, and over 100,000 controlled and cross-referenced names of educational tests.

Coverage in Education Source spans all levels of education from early childhood to higher education and also includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. Subject matter includes adult education, continuing education, distance learning, government funding, multicultural/ethnic education, social issues, student counseling, and vocational education as well as many others.

The database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. Content includes journal articles, research reports, curriculum and teaching guides, conference papers, dissertations and theses, and books dating back to 1966. When provided by ERIC, there are links to the ERIC full text or links to other sources such as publisher websites or DOIs.

This database also contains more than 200 educational reports. This is the most comprehensive and most valuable collection of full-text education journals in the world. In addition to full text, indexing and abstracts are provided for more than 700 journals. Examples of titles offered in Professional Development Collection include Booklist, Curriculum Administrator, Education, Education Digest, Educational Leadership, High School Journal, Journal of Education, Journal of Educational Research, Phi Delta Kappan, Reading Teacher, School Library Journal, and many others. The majority of full-text titles included in the database are available in native (searchable) PDF or scanned-in-color. Full-text information in the Professional Development Collection dates as far back as 1965.

This database also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and over 164,400 primary source documents, as well as an image collection of over 502,000 photos, maps, & flags. MasterFILE Premier offers PDF backfiles (as far back as 1975) for key publications including American Libraries, Foreign Affairs, History Today, Judaism, Library Journal, National Review, Saturday Evening Post, etc.

Topics include biography, history, careers, cooking, literature, genealogy, health, parenting, personal finance, politics, architecture, science, current events, social–emotional health, sports, and travel.

This new collaboration extends the work started in 2014, when EBSCO and the H.W. Wilson Foundation created American Doctoral Dissertations, which contained indexing from the H.W. Wilson print publication, Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities, 1933–1955. In 2015, the H.W. Wilson Foundation agreed to support the expansion of the scope of the American Doctoral Dissertations database to include records for dissertations and theses from 1955 to the present.

Metadata (information about the theses) comes from over 1100 colleges, universities, and research institutions.
